About Katie Robertson
People have always been my passion. Throughout my 15-year career in advertising, understanding what makes people tick and providing the right support was the cornerstone of my leadership style. Now, as a former ad-girl turned leadership and burnout coach, I can focus full-time on what once was just a part of my day.​
In advertising, I thrived in the account management department, managing direct reports, cross-functional delivery teams, and internal/external executive relationships. I was the central hub in a network of relationships, responsible for building and sustaining businesses that fueled agency profitability. These experiences have given me a profound understanding of the challenges professionals face across various industries because I have encountered many of them myself.​ But my path wasn’t destined to stay in advertising forever.
In 2018, my world turned upside down when I lost my father to a rare and aggressive fungal infection. He was a generous and energetic man, a loving father, and one of the most curious and motivated people I have ever known. As I grieved his loss, I also balanced the joy of being newly engaged and preparing for marriage. With a fast-paced career, a wedding to plan, and powerful grief left unattended, I burned out. Something had to give, and this time it was my job.​
Burnout forced me to take stock of my life. I realized I was living in misalignment with my values and ignoring serious somatic signals from my body. I was tethered to an outdated vision of my life. Recovering from burnout led me on a profound journey of self-discovery. This included building my family while pursuing my master’s degree in Learning and Organizational Change from Northwestern University. Additionally, I became certified by Northwestern University as an Organizational and Leadership Coach.​
Today, as a mother of three young children, my path continues to honor my core values. My journey has reinforced my commitment to creating a safe space for my clients to explore their own burnout journey.
